Richard started his insolvency career in 1978 with Spicer and Pegler (latterly Deloitte & Touche) in Nottingham before joining Deloitte Haskins & Sells, now PWC. During his time with Deloittes he worked on a number of well known insolvency cases as well as experiencing a two posting to Hong Kong where he dealt with three of the largest insolvencies in the territory at that time.

In 1994, Richard left to set up his own insolvency practice, Savilles, which over the years grew to a level of almost £2m of gross fees, employing 14 staff. The practice quickly established itself as one that prided itself on client care and handled a number of high profile local and national cases.

In 2002, Richard agreed a sale of the practice to Begbies Traynor, although stayed on as the Regional managing partner for the East Midlands, until 2015 when he left to once again set up his own practice, this time with three of his most trusted and capable partners.

Richard has an extremely broad knowledge across most industries having effectively dealt with pretty much every type of business around!
